It is really easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of creating something new. One thing we always want to make time for is thanking others.
Like everyone who is building something new, it was our friends, family, and colleagues that helped make E[nstitute] a reality. From donations, to building furniture, we have a great community of supporters. We wanted to take some time to thank the people who have helped us get our HQ up and running.
1. OnSwipe
Jason, Andres, and Team,
You let us squat in your office for months. We were there WAY longer than we thought and ate more snacks than should be socially acceptable. You welcomed us with open arms and always made us feel like we were at home. You saved our little non-profit thousands of dollars and mountains of headaches. We will never be able to repay you, but know that you will always be E[nstitute] VIP and we are very grateful for your support.
2. Our movers and builders
Chris, Claudia, Will, Sprung, and Alex,
You guys were here WAY too late and are FAR too experienced with Ikea furniture assembly. We appreciate the physical labor and the barrels of laughs you gave us to get our HQ ready for our fellows. The final product is way better than we could have ever imagined. This is our home and it feels like it was built by people who cared. Thank you.
3. Our furnishers
Jonathan, Muse, Roy, Marissa, Michaela, Caroline, Madho, Dan, Karen, Tasha, Courtney, Will, Niamh, Gali, and Astrida
Your furniture is what filled this place! From couches to cups, you helped us stay lean and create a cozy place for our fellows to live and learn. Your furniture looks great and we will remember you every time we use it!
There are hundreds of other people we need to thank and will be shouting out the people who help us often. Thanks for believing in us and helping us change higher ed!
Love,
Kane, Shaila, Katie & The E[nstitute] Fellows
